The Last of Us fans are a little confused about Ellie’s life-sized statue at Naughty Dog, and they aren’t afraid to share their opinions about it. As much as we love collecting video game memorabilia from franchises we adore, some character figurines can look a little ‘off’ depending on where you buy them from, but when it comes to The Last of Us creators, you can usually expect top-notch quality.

Ellie from The Last of Us is one of Naughty Dog’s most beloved and iconic characters but a recent showing of her as an enormous statue at the gaming studio’s main Headquarters has split opinions among players.

A Life-Sized Ellie In The Wilds

When it comes to The Last of Us, especially Part 2, the award-winning franchise isn’t a stranger to controversy. Whether it’s about how Naughty Dog took the narrative with Joel or about including such a diverse and complex character like Abby into the equation, the gaming studio has seen and heard it all. One area they may not have been prepared for is that they’ve, yet again, divided the TLOU community due to a very realistic Ellie statue at their HQ.

David Blatt, a concept artist at Naughty Dog, shared an image of the life-sized Ellie statue on Twitter/X and, of course, this is always a risky move in itself. Taking center place at the studio’s main office in Santa Monica, California, fans either believe she looks so realistic that they thought it was a cosplayer slipping into the shoes of Ellie, or they think that Ellie’s “face looks off” and doesn’t look like her in the slightest.

Although there might be some justification for what fans are saying about the Ellie statue because of how her face has been molded, which does make her look a little off center, it’s fair to say the life-sized figure, standing at around 5’5 feet, is an incredible work of craftsmanship. Just look at how realistic her hair is, her freckled skin, and her entire survival outfit are truly on point that it’s no wonder people were confused about whether this was a cosplayer at first.

Now the question is, how much does it cost, and can we purchase one to add to our never-ending collection?
