WWE is a commercial machine, and it wouldn’t take long for a new shirt to be printed if one of its stars said something the brand thought would catch up. People may remember “Austin 3:16”, Hulkamania, and the nWo jerseys, and it looks like WWE is trying to cash in on something new with the undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Unfortunately, they may have missed the mark on an icon, and made a lot more “wtf” product than anything else.
A couple of new Roman Reigns T-shirts recently appeared on WWE StoreThey seem to be referring to Reigns’ final clip with Theory on Monday Night Raw. Reigns told Theory that “daddy” wasn’t there to protect him anymore, which was a huge blow to Theory’s story as now retired Vince McMahon was his mentor. The fans responded with “Who’s your daddy chants,” which is the only reason I think WWE Merchandise Team came up with the following jersey for $27.99 available in men’s sizes:
Roman Reigns’ “Acknowledge Me” was definitely a hit, but I’m not sure “Acknowledge Your Daddy” would be too big for him in the long run. There’s also another shirt similar to this one that’s gone up as well, available in women’s sizes at the same price as the men’s shirt:
You could put a thousand things on a WWE shirt that wouldn’t surprise me but “The Tribe Chief is my dad” totally surprised me. Fortunately, there aren’t any baby sizes available at this time that have a third phrase, but who knows if that would change if they were sold like hot cakes.
More than a little weird, these new Roman Reigns T-shirts are perhaps a misguided attempt to jump into a recent moment of popularity without stopping to let the idea soak in for a bit. This shirt might fit famous Attitude Era star Val Venis, but it might not be something for WWE’s “Head of the Table.”
Wrestling fans are busy praising The new president of Triple H for It has been reported that he decided to turn Becky Lynch into a lovable face again, but I’d say it should also take some blocks for this regardless of whether it had anything to do with creating it or not. This is a really weird shirt, and I’m curious how well it sells.
I might be surprised, because WWE has been successful in selling Stranger Things. Alexa Bliss revealed it some time ago Replicas of her scary doll Lilly are often sold out. It has also been said that the former star Reportedly, Bray Wyatt was a top seller of merchandise During his tenure, all his characters were pretty much scary and weird. Roman Reigns “Daddy” t-shirts aren’t quite as exotic as that stuff, but there is a chance it will find a market. I think we’ll know if Reigns continues to use the word “daddy” in his promotions, or if viewers start seeing T-shirts in the crowd. Monday Night Raw And the Smackdown.
