In case you somehow missed it, Xbox Game Pass for PC – PC Game Pass – is set to add the popular Viking survival video game Walheim To the subscription service starting tomorrow, September 29. The early access video game will also appear on the Microsoft Store at that point. Before that, developer Iron Gate Studio released a new update for Walheim Which officially adds cross-play support.
“Our friends at Piktiv have worked hard to make sure the game looks the same no matter what platform you’re on, but the patch requires a small GUI change in the start menu in order to make other people’s worlds as smooth as possible,” the preamble of the patch notes for Official update Partially read. - Crossplay support added
- Added ‘Manage Save’ GUI so that it is easier for players to restore/remove saves and backups
- Simple network optimization for in-game hosting (requires less host when other players are in the game at the same time)
- The “Join the game” tab has been updated. Players can now add favorite servers, see if a server is up and running, and whether they support cross-play. **
- Players can now use the “-crossplay” parameter while running dedicated servers to support crossplay. When this parameter is used, the backend will run Playfab instead of Steamworks. (A ‘Join Code’ will appear when you join a dedicated server that supports crossplay. Players can use this token to join the server. This join token is regenerated when the server is restarted.)
- Added a new branch, “default_old”, where you can play on the previous Steam version of the game in case your server has not yet been updated (Steam may need to restart the branch for it to appear)
** A question mark indicates that the server’s status is uncertain, and a red X indicates that the server is down. If there is a “random” icon next to the server status, it means that the server supports cross-play.
As mentioned above, Walheim Patch 0.211.7 is currently in. On a larger scale , Walheim It’s currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam for $19.99 and is due to launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One in 2023.
