Katie Couric announces her breast cancer diagnosis

Katie Couric revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in June, writing: “Every two minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the US. On June 21st, I became one of them. Couric, who had breast cancer surgery in July and started radiotherapy on September 7, also noted that her first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer at the age of 42, while her sister died at the age of 54 of pancreatic cancer.
