Brian May: Queen + Adam Lambert ‘Battle Wounded’ after premiere | music | entertainment

Queen + Adam Lambert resumed their choppy world tour last night in Northern Ireland. Early reviews were full of euphoria, and May posted an instant message to fans saying: “Thank you for such a great welcome tonight, dear people of Belfast. It was incredible to feel so much love.” However, ahead of tonight’s second show, he also admitted that they were all feeling some “battle scars” but were determined to get rid of them and take more risks.

In a video message on Instagram, Brian said: “Everything is going to be a lot more dangerous than last night because we changed a few things. I think we’re all a little terrified of the fight from last night, but it makes you try even harder. I can’t wait! See you all out there and let’s dance! !”

Queen’s original lineup has always been known for being absolutely perfect, especially when it comes to live performances, carefully crafting every aspect. Live Aid’s amazing viewing slot was the ultimate guide. However, the icon has also posted a great new message from Belfast revealing a powerful new belief.

Brian wrote: “The excitement of anticipation here behind the scenes is obvious – you can feel it in the air – half fear and half joy in every department. But beneath it all there is a great confidence that it will happen.”

“The entire QAL (Queen + Adam Lambert) touring team is full of passion and the pursuit of excellence, beyond what might be expected. I have to say this ‘family’ is probably the best and most skilled touring team ever. And that means something.

“So I have a firm belief that everything tonight is as it should be. It won’t be ‘perfect’.”

Brian went on to explain this philosophy beautifully and eloquently: “This isn’t what a rock show is about. It’s about the lines between what’s highly achievable and what’s risky but worth reaching.”

“We’re one of the very few teams out there now that actually plays live, without supporting tapes or clicks. So what you’re hearing is real – and tonight, all the work and care that went into preparing this holiday will continue through us.”

“On a good night, it can be quite imperfect. And so…once again in the breach, dear friends…what an emotional moment after the agony of the past two years we have all been through.”

After Belfast, Queen + Adam Lambert moved to the AO Arena in Manchester on May 30 and 31, followed by OVO Hydro in Glasgow on June 2-3.

The band will begin a series of shows in London with 5,6,8 and 9 June at the O2 Arena followed by a break at Birmingham Utilita Arena on 11 and 12 June, before returning to London on 14 and 15 June, 17, 18, 20 and 21.
