Saint Seiya Live-Action movie will release its first look on SDCC

San Diego Comic-Con is on the horizon, and that means studios are lining up content ads left and right. From Marvel to DC, some of the smartest brands will be making themselves at home at the convention soon. And now, we’ve learned that Saint Seiya will be joining the action with a first look at the live action movie.

The update comes from the SDCC itself as the event released a blurb about the Saint Seiya painting not too long ago. According to the description, Knights of the Zodiac will take the stage at SDCC on July 23 with a “first look” at the live-action movie.

Currently, the panel will include Madison Iceman and Diego Tinoco while they star in the live action movie. Producer Yoshi Ikezawa will also be present, along with combat choreographer Andy Cheng and screenwriters Josh Campbell and Matt Stoeken.

For those unfamiliar with the live adaptation, Sony Pictures is distributing the film alongside Toei. The film stars McKinho in the lead role alongside Iseman and Tinoko. The trio will be joined by Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl and Mark Dacascos, among others. And if you want more information about the classic anime, you’ve come to the right place.

Saint Seiya – often known universally as the Knights of the Zodiac – has a brutal history. The series began as a manga under the leadership of Masami Kurumada in 1986 and tells the story of five mysterious heroes who draw their power from the stars. They were tasked with defending the reincarnated goddess Athena against other deities who would harm her or the earth as a whole.

Saint Seiya was very popular between her debut, and Toei Animation turned the series into an anime. IP has gone on to spawn a life long with plenty of spin-off manga, TV series, and movies. The franchise is particularly popular globally in regions such as Latin America and Europe but has failed to find a foothold in the United States. But if fans are lucky, this reality project could change all that!
