Nine out of ten think PC games offer a better experience than mobile: HP report

Vikram Bedi, Senior Director of HP India, is not concerned about the dynamics of PC versus mobile gaming. “It’s not exclusive to just play on mobile or just play on a laptop,” Bedi told Indianexpress.com, adding that “there are some games that fit themselves very well with the mobile form factor and some games very well suited for computer form factor.”

According to data published in the 2021 “Gaming Landscape Report” by HP India, nine out of 10 gamers believe that a PC offers a better gaming experience than a smartphone, and many of them are said to be eager to move into PC gaming. The report also states that 37 percent of mobile gamers would like to switch to a PC for a better gaming experience, and 54 percent of respondents believe that computer games have better graphics, technology, and processing speed than a smartphone.

Furthermore, 59 percent of respondents revealed that they wanted to move to computer games for better graphics, while 56 percent of respondents wanted better performance. While PCs, laptops, and even game consoles remain a luxury in many homes in India, these have become great buys in the past couple of years, with new gamers, creators and general users wanting a powerful hardware device in high demand, as well as professionals. Game enthusiasts. It also helps that PC gaming provides a more fluid, performance-oriented and flexible experience, on both desktops and gaming laptops.

According to Bedi, PC gaming remains “more powerful, immersive, more accessory capable, and competitive.” And, aside from the abundance of titles you can find on PC, he added, the games in both ecosystems are great examples of the vast difference in experience.

“Sometimes you play the same game on (the two platforms) and you have different abilities and different levels of experience in the two games,” Bede explained. For example, many titles like PUBG and Fortnite are available on both platforms, but the PC version is unsurprisingly richer and more immersive. Even in games like Between Us, which is a somewhat unofficial one, for Call of Duty: Mobile, gaming on smartphones is just getting started while these titles are tried and tested on PC.

Bedi adds that new players often come through mobile and later move on to “more involved” versions of games on PC that are not only more powerful, but also allow for greater flexibility with accessories. This could include everything from consoles to custom multi-monitor setups and accessories designed specifically for gaming. Gaming desktops and many gaming laptops can also be upgraded, allowing them to be more future-proof in the long run.

In addition to a number of career options that have also appeared in the gaming sector, not only as a gamer, but also in game design, etc. “All of these things led to an explosion on the demand side,” Bedi added, referring to gaming laptops and PCs.
