Prosecutors said Tori Lenz violated Megan Thee Stallion’s restraining orders

A judge ordered rapper Tory Lenz to be jailed on Tuesday after prosecutors said he violated a restraining order obtained by his ex-girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a pretrial hearing that Lenz, whose legal name is Dystar Peterson, violated two types of orders filed in his case. One is a “discovery protection order” and the other is a temporary criminal restraining order.

Prosecutors told the judge that Lenz violated orders by addressing his ex-girlfriend directly on social media and discussing DNA evidence.

He was remanded in custody instead of $350,000 in bail.

His attorney, Sean Holley, said the attorney general’s office had requested that the entire bail be rescinded or increased to $5 million.

“We are pleased that the court rejected these outrageous requests,” Holley said.

Lenz is scheduled to stand trial in September on charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He is accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pitt, during the 2020 dispute.

Indicted in October 2020 and Not guilty.

Holly said in court on Tuesday that there were four contributors of DNA to the pistol, making the findings inconclusive for Linz. In addition, Lenz’s DNA was never found in the bullet journal, his lawyer told the judge.

Alex Spiro, Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, confirmed in a statement Tuesday that the judge had found sufficient evidence to order a trial for Linz.

“In addition, the judge found sufficient evidence today that he violated the protection order and handcuffed him in the courtroom,” Spiro said. “Subjective hype in this case will not change the facts or prevent this case from proceeding.”

Lenz’s bond was increased from $190,000 to $250,000 last year after a court found Lenz violated an order to stay within 100 yards of Megan Thee Stallion when they performed the same concert, Billboard reported.

Megan Thee Stallion said in July 2020 that she injured her foot and required surgery to remove the bullet. Initial reports at the time stated that she was cut glass at a party, but she countered the headlines and told Instagram followers that she was the victim of a crime.

She later accused Lenz of being the one who shot her on her social media accounts.

County prosecutors said at the time that Lenz was charged that the two “get into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills,” adding that “the victim got out of the car and [Lanez] She is accused of shooting several times in the feet and injuring her.
