Hall of Famer Tamara Lynn ‘Sunny’ Sytch, involved in fatal Florida accident

Member of the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Tamara Lynn Sitch “Sunny” She was involved in a fatal three-car accident in Florida, and police are investigating her for possible “damage,” authorities said.

Police said in a statement on Tuesday that Sych, 49, was behind the wheel of a 2012 Mercedes-Benz when it crashed into the back of a parked Kia car at a traffic light. The accident occurred on North Young Street in Ormond Beach, north of Daytona Beach, at 8:28 p.m. on March 25.

Authorities said the driver of the Kia, Julien LaFrancis Lassiter, 75, died of his injuries.

Police said the collision caused the Lasseter to smash into a third vehicle, injuring the 46-year-old GMC Yukon driver and a passenger, but they did not need to be hospitalized.

Sych was taken to the Halifax Health Medical Center and “was subsequently released after a search warrant was approved and executed to obtain a sample of her blood to investigate her weakness,” according to a police statement.

The traffic crash report said the Mercedes-Benz was traveling around 45mph as it headed south in Yonge, just north of Granada Street, where the speed limit is 45mph.

Police said the investigation could lead to criminal charges pending the results of the toxicology. “The OBPD has requested an urgent time frame for processing these samples and the results will be available once the department receives them.”

Sych could not be reached for comment on Thursday.

“Our thoughts are with the Lassiter family, who lost a loved one in such a tragic event,” Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey said in a statement.

“Our goal at Ormond Beach Police Department is to keep the city’s roads safe, so if you see a vehicle operating in a way that makes you think the driver might be weak, please don’t hesitate to call 911. You can just save someone’s life.”

Sytch was a mainstay in the then WWF and other circles in the mid-1990s into the early 2000s. She played multiple “diva” roles which included ringside valet, air commentator and wrestler herself.

“Sytch will forever be remembered as the person who redefined the role of women in WWE,” according to her Hall of Fame profile. “She was a quick-talking manager who could pull things off when she needed to. In short, she was sexy, smart, and powerful.”
