Michael Mann’s ‘Tokyo Vice’ will be broadcast on BBC

The BBC Acquired the UK free streaming rights to the high-profile crime drama series “Tokyo Vice” (8×60), which contains a pilot episode directed by Michael Mannfrom quest content. The BBC has second effective UK rights and will broadcast it later this year. The series will be broadcast in the UK on Starzplay from 15 May. The series, which is currently airing on HBO Max in the United States, has been widely sold by Endeavor.

Filmed on location in Tokyo, the series depicts Adelstein (Ansel Elgort’s) daily descent into the neon-filled netherlands of Tokyo, where nothing and nobody is really what they are or who they seem. “Tokyo Vice” was created and written by Tony Award-winning playwright JT Rogers, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Mann also serves as an executive producer. The series also stars Ken Watanabe, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keeler, Ella Rampf, Hideaki Ito, Shu Kasamatsu and Tomohisa Yamashita.
