On Christmas Day last year, Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Jean-Marc Vallee died unexpectedly with no known cause of death at the time. Some are best known for Vale’s work as a director for what he did on HBO. His credits included another feature film Little Victoria. starring Emily Blunt, Robert Friend, and Paul Bettany; Wildstarring Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern; And DemolitionStarring Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper.
“Jean-Marc championed creativity, originality and trying things differently,” production partner Nathan Ross said at the time of Valle’s death. “He was a true artist and a gracious and loving young man. Everyone who worked with him could not help but see the talent and vision he possessed. He was a friend, creative partner, and older brother to me. The maestro will be sorely missed but comforts you from knowing his beautiful style and the moving work he shared with the world.”
“I’ll always remember you when the sun goes down. I chase the light. On a mountain in Oregon. On a beach in Monterey. I make sure we all have a little magic in this lifetime,” Big Little Lies And Wild Starring Reese Witherspoon Witherspoon at the time of Vale’s death, she posted a tribute to him on Instagram. “I love you, Jane Mark. Until we meet again.”
On Twitter, Matthew McConaughey, who won his only Academy Award for the movie Vallee he directed Dallas Buyers Clubwrote a post about the director as well, saying: “With his gentle hand and heart Jean-Marc was a true recipient – he did not romanticize life so much as he saw life as romantic – from struggle to pain to winks and whispers, love stories were everywhere in his eye.”
