Kaley Cuoco recently confirmed that joy She lost out on a much-desired role in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 2. The actor underwent a lengthy audition process, but was considered for Kate Hudson, who caught the part in the Netflix-backed murder mystery. Johnson filmed the sequel in Greece with original star Daniel Craig and a brand new group that included Hudson, Dave Bautista, Katharine Hahn, Ethan Hawke, and more.

“I was convinced [the part was mine]Coco said. “Kate Hudson ended up getting it. But I was so convinced my bags were packed to Greece. And then I didn’t understand. I was so broken. And I’m not [normally] Ruined on roles. I’ve finished my chemistry readings, and I’ve done Zooms. And I did not understand. I cried and cried all night. And I went to Kate, and she’s great.”

The day after her rejection of Knives Out 2, Coco said that she was awarded a script for the upcoming romantic comedy “Meet Cute,” in which she stars opposite Pete Davidson. But even though Cuoco fell in love with the “Meet Cute” script and wouldn’t have been able to star in the rom-com had she landed “Knives Out 2”, she was still upset about losing a sequel to Johnson.

“I mean, I was shocked about that,” Coco said of losing the role of “Knives Out 2”. “And that’s when I thought I was on fire, like, I’m sure I get it. And they were like, ‘No, we’re going with Kate.'”

Coco added,[The whole time prior] I was thinking I was bullshit: I’d be with Daniel Craig. It is amazing. But I couldn’t be happier with how things went. That’s what it was meant to be, and Knives Out 2 is going to be great and Kate is great. You were supposed to do it and I was meant to do it. And maybe I will take the third test.”

Coming up for Cuoco is season two of “The Flight Attendant,” which launches April 21 on HBO Max. Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for “Knives Out 2,” though it’s expected to drop sometime this fall.
