Kevin Bacon Joins ‘Leave the World Behind’ – Cinematic News Briefing

Kevin Bacon and Farrah Mackenzie join Netflix Leave The World Behind, joining Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Mahala Herold in the film based on the bestselling novel by Roman Alam.

The story is about a couple vacationing in a rented house on Long Island, and are surprised when the homeowners arrive with news of a mysterious power outage.

Sam Esmail writes and directs, and a High Ground production of The Obamas has recently appeared as executive producer. The novel reached the finals of the National Book Award.

“Hey Noon” Gary Cooper Honored at University of Southern California

USC School of Motion Picture Arts is partnering with Gary Cooper Estate on the 70th anniversary of the Academy Award-nominated Western “High Noon.” On Sunday, April 24, events will include a special presentation, a painting, a book signing, and the opening of the Gary Cooper Gallery.

The exhibition will feature Cooper’s Oscars, personal and film costumes, photos with family and friends including Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso and more. The exhibition will be shown in the foyer of the School of Cinematic Arts until September 30.
