Vin Diesel: ‘Fast and Furious 10’ script with the exception of Jordana Brewster

Vin Diesel revealed in an Instagram post that the original draft of the script for “Fast and Furious 10” left out Jordana Brewster’s character, Mia Toretto. The upcoming sequel, officially titled “Fast X,” is expected to be the penultimate installment in the long-running “Fast and Furious” series. Brewster’s Mia Toretto has worked with the franchise since its first entry and had an extended role in its latest sequel, “Fast 9.”

“When the F10 script came out, he ruled out Mia Toretto,” Diesel wrote. “[She’s] Someone I attribute the fraternity between Dom and Brian to… I was so disappointed that I couldn’t see how I could go on. After all, I wouldn’t make another “quick” unless [Paul Walker] He returned in four. I don’t need to remind you of the petitions I sent the studio for [Michelle Rodriguez’s] Back at the end of the five.”

“Side note, you will never believe who corrected the very important role of Mia… my daughter, an alpha angel,” added Diesel. “I clearly and honestly told the director ‘NO MIA NO FAST 10! Haha. The irony is that the day I was born I was photographing with Jordana and [Paul Walker] Jordana was the first to tell him… right? “

Production on “Fast X” began on April 20. Justin Lin is back in the director’s chair for his sixth film, “Fast and Furious.” Diesel and Brewster return to franchise veterans Michelle Rodriguez, Therese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Natalie Emmanuel, Song Kang and Charlize Theron. New cast members include Michael Rooker, Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior and Brie Larson.

Universal is set to open ‘Fast X’ in theaters May 19, 2023
