Blake Lively to direct the adaptation “Seconds” by Edgar Wright

Blake Lively makes her directorial debut with a film adaptation of Searchlight Pictures’ “Seconds” graphic novel, diverse Made sure on.

Created by Bryan Lee O’Malley and released in 2014 by Random House Imprint Ballantine Books, “Seconds” follows the story of Katie Clay, the owner and chef of the titular restaurant. One night, the mysterious spirit of Katie provides the power to change reality by writing something you want to change in a notebook, eating mushrooms and sleeping. When Katie begins to abuse power to change her past mistakes, her actions slowly unravel the fabric of time and space.

Text “Seconds” written by Edgar Wright. Wright previously led the first adaptation of O’Malley’s project, the 2010 “Scott Pilgrim Against the World”. The classic rom-com starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead was based on the six-volume “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novel series published by Oni Press from 2004 to 2010. Wright will also produce the film alongside Mark Platt.

Lively made her directorial debut last year, when she filmed the music video for “I Bet You Think About Me,” an add-on from Taylor Swift’s “Red (Copy)” album. For her work directing and producing the wedding music video, which starred Miles Teller and his wife Kelly Sperry Teller, she received two nominations at the American Country Music Awards. Lively is best known for her lead role as Serena van der Woodsen on the CW teen drama series “Gossip Girl,” which she starred in from 2007 to 2012. Notable films in which she has appeared include “The City,” “Adaline Age,” “Shallows” and Simple service” and “rhythm section”.
