‘Saved by the Bell’ canceled in Peacock after two seasons

The “Save The Bell” revival in Peacock has been cancelled.

Two seasons have been shown on the streaming device, with the last one appearing in November 2021. The first season premiered in November 2020.

“We are extremely proud to have been the home of the next iteration of ‘Saved by the Bell’ for both new fans and the OG,” Peacock said in a statement. “Saved by the Bell has been a cultural mainstay for more than 30 years, and the new series, led by super-passionate Tracey Wigfield and masterful sense of humor, seamlessly continued the show’s legacy, while allowing more audiences to feel the vision. We are grateful to Tracey, Franco Barrio, our UTV partners, and our beloved cast. and fans who have gone on to defend one of the most iconic shows of all time.”

Original series star Elizabeth Berkeley Lauren and Mario Lopez star in the show, with fellow original cast members Mark Paul Gosselaar, Tiffany Thiessen, and Lark Voorhees appearing in recurring roles. The new main cast included John Michael Higgins, Haskeri Velasquez, Mitchell Hogg, Josie Tota, Alicia Pascual Peña, Belmont Camille, and Dexter Darden.

Tracey Wigfield developed the remake for television and also served as executive producer. It also produced Franco Barrio and CEO Peter Engel. Universal Television was the studio.
