Impact Wrestling just held its own Rebellion Show, which saw Josh Alexander Moose defeat Josh Alexander Moose to become the new Impact Wrestling World Champion. The story between them would not have happened despite Moose not re-signing with Impact again in 2021, and Moose recently confirmed combat choice”It’s reported that he will sign with WWE before a new deal eventually pushes him to re-sign with Impact Wrestling. It’s definitely an interesting case of whether that was the case, but Moose ended up becoming Impact World Champion and a monster for Impact after being re-signed, so things definitely worked out.
According to the report, Moose had informal talks with WWE that included input for him to go to WWE and the possibility of going straight to the main roster, but Vince McMahon had to personally give that go-ahead. During that time, Impact had already made an offer to Moose, but Moose said he had decided to leave for WWE at that point.
Impact’s Scott D’Amore was going to make him a final offer although this eventually led him to re-sign with the company. The deal was a huge improvement over his old deal, but Impact needed a quick answer to get it done, and Moose decided to take it and re-sign. According to those Fightful spoke to in WWE, there was no heat for him to make that decision.
WWE sources familiar with the conversations say Canyon Ceman was the key man in the deal, but that WWE would have been so private about not moving into contract tampering territory, Ceman isn’t working with the company anymore. As for Moose, his new deal with Impact was for two years, and the first year went well for him, so we have to wait and see what the future holds for him.
