Drake Producer Noah ’40’ Shabib revisits his roots in ‘Toronto Rising’

When it comes to Drake’s music, producer Noah “40” Shebib was a key architect of the rapper’s sound, and the city of Toronto served as the backdrop for their work together. These two narratives come together in the form of a recently released 13-minute short documentary titled “Toronto Rising – 40’s Very Own”.

Released today on the Grammy Award-winning producer’s YouTube channel in partnership with Native Instruments, the short film offers a rare look at the 40’s process as he reflects on his success story.

Thanks to archived stills and never-before-seen home videos, Saber’s world has directed the mini-documentary, which chronicles the first forty days with Drake, and in particular produced the 2007 mixtape “Comeback Season,” in which the reclusive producer provides a personal account of his rise in the rap scene. .

The documentary also touches on the ongoing 40’s battle with MS.

40 said, “I’ve always considered myself a visitor in hip-hop. When I was 21, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I learned a lesson in the hospital, which is that as long as I have like one finger it still works, no matter what the world has taken away from me.” I can play the keyboard and make music. All the things in my life just kind of point me in one direction. I’m here to play my part and make my mark.”

Whether it was his intention or not, 40 is also inspired by this movie, which is a love letter to hip-hop and the city the two helped put on the map.
