Season 2 of The Wilds landed on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, May 6, 2022.

After the dramatic events of Season 1, The Wilds sheds more light on the situation the girls find themselves in in the wake of Nora’s disappearance, Rachel’s horrific injury and flashes to show the girls while they are being questioned.

As the girls learn more about their role in Gretchen’s sordid plans, Leah discovers that they are only half the rehearsal as a group of boys, too, are left stranded on an island themselves.

The new season follows both girls and boys as they continue their fight for survival and their quest to finally reveal the true nature of Gretchen’s experiences.

How many episodes does season 2 of The Wilds have?

The second season of The Wilds consists of eight episodes in total.

Veteran fans of The Wilds will note that Season 2 contains two fewer episodes than we saw in Season 1, which included 10 chapters.

However, to make up for that, all eight new episodes were released at once on May 6th, meaning fans were able to enjoy the new season at their own pace.

Fans react to the shortest duration of the season

While fans are thrilled to see The Wilds again on their screens, many were unimpressed by the shorter season and took to social media to offer their thoughts.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Season 2 of The Wilds was definitely a transitional season to lead us into Season 3 so we won’t judge too hard because I know there’s more to come but damn, eight episodes wasn’t enough.”

While another added, “Why are there only eight episodes of Season 2 of The Wilds? Like I want my ten episodes because now I don’t feel accomplished.”

This fan commented, “I feel that the season’s biggest flaw is being rushed and the inappropriate proportion between the stories he was trying to tell. I honestly think he could have benefited from a couple of extra episodes to get over it and provide more time to explain the plot lines.”
