Florence Welch and Jimmy Buffett sing “Margaritaville” on “The Tonight Show”

Florence Welch and the Machine appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday night to promote the band’s new album, “Dance Fever.”

But before the singer performed her new dance ballad “My Love,” Welch joined Jimmy Buffet in a surprising duet to his 1977 classic “Margaritaville.” And of course Fallon couldn’t help but jump.

Clearly enjoying the made-for-TV moment, the unexpected trio smiled throughout the performance, lagging behind at the end of the cocktail anthem.

Then Welch sat down to have a conversation with Fallon about her new music. During her interview, Welch spoke about the ideas behind her identity “Florence + The Machine” – detailing her childhood interests and citing “Rogue from ‘X-Men’, a Victorian ghost, and like mermaids”.

“Dance Fever,” released Friday (May 13), is Florence + Machine’s first album in four years. The LP continues with their 2018 stripped-down album “High as Hope”. Welch also shared two other singles from “Dance Fever” including the emotional anthem “Heaven Is Here” and the feminist anthem, “King”. Both songs were released with a series of accompanying music videos, featuring stunning cinematic visuals.

Welch co-produced Dance Fever with Grammy Award-winning Jack Antonoff and Dave Bailey of Glass Animals. It was recorded in London during the epidemic. The Visually striking video clip for “My Love” Directed by Autumn de Wilde.

Welch also announced a North American yard tour with Arlo Parks, King Princess, Sam Fender, Yves Tumor, Japanese Breakfast and Wet Leg.
