The Golden Ratio supports Pa.Ranjith for the movie “Vettuvam” and the series

Activist Indian filmmaker Ba Ranjith is set to begin production later this year on “Vettuvam” (also known as “The Hunted”), a related film and TV series about standing up to injustice that is largely set in a prison. .

These projects are supported by Golden Ratio Films, the film production arm of Vistas Media Capital and Neelam Studios.

The story revolves around a rural gangster who is the modern day Robin Hood of his people, but he surrenders to the police in order to avoid his enemies. What he found inside the prison system is much worse.

The Tamil language movie will come first, followed by the serial. Principal photography will begin in South India in August this year, with a plan to release the full film in 2023. Producers are Ranjith, Abhayanand Singh, Pyush Singh, Saurabh Gupta and Aditi Anand. Co-producers are Ashwini Chaudhry and Parul Singh.

Aimed at broadcast and audiences, the series will follow a unique structure in which each episode takes a different personal viewpoint presented in the movie.
Ranjith went from assistant director to making his debut in 2012 with “Attakathi”, a playful depiction of vassal culture. He’s been busy ever since, with credits including “Kabali,” about persecuted Muslims in Malaysia, which has earned $38 million worldwide; The 2018 movie Kala, which is about Mumbai slum dwellers resisting and holding their lands from greedy builders; and sports action drama Sarpetta Parambarai, set in the boxing culture of northern Madras in the 1970s. He also has a completed romance movie waiting for release.

Vistas Media Capital presents itself as a global media content and technology company headquartered in Singapore, led by Co-Founder and Group CEO Abhayanand Singh. It operates by financing production, distribution and films in India, Southeast Asia and increasingly in Hollywood.

Its Golden Ratio Films unit has produced and released dozens of Hindi films across formats and languages ​​over the past four years, and recently partnered with Appian Way (“The Revenant”, “Robin Hood” and “The Aviator”) to co-finance and co-produce a film “Pep”, a biographical film about legendary boxer Willie Pep.

The Golden Ratio has also invested in the road horror film “Son” starring Andy Matichak (from the Halloween series) and Emil Hirsch, which was released in 2021.

Neelam is a newly established company headed by Ranjith and Aditi Anand. She develops films and feature-length content on a contemporary topic across multiple languages.
