If you enjoyed a plethora of great shows from the ’80s, you probably have fond memories of tuning into The Equalizer.
If not, then on the other hand, you may have learned about the property through the films of Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
Since then, CBS has featured an experience that some fans have defended as the best yet.
The reboot series was developed by Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall – the titular equalizer – in 2021 and successfully expanded based on the premise’s limitless potential.
Hopes are high for the show to stay on TV, but has Season 3 of The Equalizer been confirmed?
Was The Equalizer renewed for season 3?
Yes, The Equalizer was renewed for not only a third season but a fourth season as well in May 2022.
Although a Season 3 release date has yet to be confirmed, Limit Reports indicate that it will start with the 2022-2023 broadcast season with attention drawn to the impressive ratings for the second season.
For example, CBS identified the show as the best-performing script series on Sunday, averaging 9.46 million viewers, and so far, it has generated 1.2 billion potential impressions on social media.
Of course, that’s no small feat, which explains why the network is confident of renewing for two seasons rather than just one.
“We think of a lot of different people”
Queen Latifah herself has already talked about the upcoming season and brought up some exciting new additions during a recent chat with her diverse:
“[We’re] We absorb what worked and what didn’t, step up our game, and rise to the next year, because we have some serious fans who love the show. We want to make sure we retain them and build on that audience.”
As for the new faces: “We’re thinking about a lot of different people for season 3. But we can’t tell you, because then everyone’s going to go grab it.”
The interviewer also asked the star about lessons learned from the first two seasons of season 3.
She revealed that cooperation is of paramount importance, explaining that “every part of our cast and crew has something to offer and treating each other with respect is important.”
