Ticket problems in Cannes: Festival rolls out new ticket editing reforms

The Cannes Film Festival has made yet another overhaul of movie ticket editing on its online service.

Festival attendees have been complaining for days – even before Cannes officially opened – about the attractive ticket site, which takes what seems like an eternity to load and usually ends with an “error” message, making it virtually impossible to secure tickets.

Thursday afternoon (day 3), organizers emailed delegates with a new link prepared for film market professionals.

The festival said the problems with its website were “likely due to malicious acts aimed at flooding the site with requests, thus preventing festival-goers from accessing it”.

From now on, delegates are required to keep the link private (which is why diverse Not associated with the site).

“Since we have already been victims of malicious acts, we ask you not to pass this link on to third parties, especially as it will only work for authorized festival goers,” the organizers said in their email.

More is coming.
