Just over a month after it premiered in theaters, the latest installment of the “Fantastic Beasts” series will hit broadcasters on May 30.
The Secrets of Dumbledore will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max, joining the first two films in the Fantastic Beasts: And Where to Find Them series and The Crimes of Grindelwald. The latest installment of the “Harry Potter” series continues to delve into the back stories of the most famous characters from JK Rowling’s wizarding world. This time around, the story revolves around the beloved Hogwarts boss as he confronts dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and his growing legion of henchmen.
Eddie Redmayne reprises his role as Newt Scamander, an awkward, lovable wizard who is tasked with helping Jude Law’s Dumbledore stop Grindelwald’s power grab. Grindelwald plays Mads Mikkelsen, who replaced Johnny Depp after the actor’s ongoing lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard.
In his review of “The Dumbledore Secrets”, diverse Film critic Peter Debruge wrote: “There is something to be said for the way Rowling’s vision spans multiple films, and how each part feels like binge-watching the latest season of the prestigious HBO series (an adult-friendly alternative, PG-13 to ‘Game of Thrones’). No other movie series works in such intricate multi-phase arcs, detailing farming that will almost certainly pay off in the seasons to come.
