Dragon Ball Super The series’ original creator explains why Gohan and Piccolo will form the main team in the future Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Movie! There have been nothing but surprises since the new movie was first announced. Not only did Toriyama start work on a second Dragon Ball Super movie before Dragon Ball Super: Broly even hit theaters, but this new project will be the first fully 3D animated movie in the franchise overall. Fans were curious as to why Gohan and Piccolo took the main gist of action and combat this time around.
talking to the official Dragon Ball websiteToriyama opened up about why Gohan and Piccolo are the lead team for the new movie as he explained that Gohan hasn’t had a major role in a while, “Gohan is actually stronger than anyone else…or so it was said, but lately he hasn’t had a chance to shine “. But in terms of bringing Piccolo into the mix, the creator thought Gohan’s teacher would be a well for growth.
“In order to motivate Gohan, it takes his esteemed mentor Piccolo instead of his father Goku,” Toriyama continued before ending with, “I thought I would try to give birth to a new superhero, by putting these two into the spotlight through intense fights with Gamma androids.” Teasing both Gohan and Piccolo are reaching new levels of power just by the nature of getting starring roles in the next movie, it’s clear that Toriyama has already done his best for their big team!
It won’t be long before we find out how good the Gohan and Piccolo team are Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero It will be shown in theaters across Japan starting June 11, and will be officially shown in theaters worldwide later this summer. With original story, script, and character designs from original creator Akira Toriyama, Crunchyroll, and Sony Pictures Entertainment officially provoked Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero as such:
