WWE added two more matches to 2022 Hell in a dungeon The card during the episode homecoming from Monday Night Raw This week – a US Championship match and a six-person mixed team match featuring all three members at Judgment Day. However, the show still didn’t feature anyone from SmackDown in any of the matches. There have been no reports of it being an exclusive pay-per-view brand, but the news that Roman Reigns won’t be defending the undisputed WWE Universal Championship has been online for weeks.
It is also worth noting that there is only one nickname Hell in a dungeon Match on the card, Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins III. Pay-per-view typically has two to three matches in a cell on a given night with at least one title on hand.
With Reigns absent from the show, the only obvious addition to the match by SmackDown is a tag team championship match that includes The Usos. Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura beat the pair in a contender’s match on Raw this week by being disqualified, so this may be where the title match is taking place. Other options include Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Gonzalez for the SmackDown Women’s Championship or Gunter vs. Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship.
One of WWE’s original plans for the show was, reportedly, to challenge Sasha Banks, Naomi Rossi, and Bianca Bellaire to their women’s championships. The pair rejected the idea, and instead wanted to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Nikki ASH and Doudrop. WWE denied this request, prompting the two to walk out of the May 16 episode of Raw. The duo were later suspended and stripped of their tag titles, and while WWE initially promised a championship to crown new champions, the idea now appears to be “dead”.
