Singer Andy Stone recently hit Mariah Carey with a $20 million lawsuit over her massive 1994 hit All I Want for Christmas is You.

Andy owns I filed a civil case against Maria Walter Afanasyev, co-writer of her hit song, in US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Andy co-wrote the country song of the same name in 1989 with his pop group, Vince Vance & the Valiants.

Why is Andy suing Maria for $20 million?

Andy is suing Maria over the use of his song title for her 1994 hit song.

“Plaintiff [Andy Stone] Personally requested that the defendants [Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff] Cease and desist from further distributing the plaintiff’s business,” the lawsuit reads in part.
