One would think that after killing Madeleine, he had no qualms about letting Teddy burn in flames. However, saving the kid and not spending any time with him wouldn’t make sense if he was his father, because he did his best to try and have a relationship with Ryan.
While we don’t yet know Teddy’s significance in the series, it’s unlikely it’s just this “Easter egg.” Maybe the show makers have something big planned for the little guy in the future.
