I may not be related to them, but I’ve been a hardy kid (fan) ever since I saw them in an epic “TLC II” match at Wrestlemania X-Seven. Some would say Edge’s spear was the highlight of that match, but I’d always go with Swanton’s crazy bombshell Jeff Hardy from the top of the ladder. Yes, Jeff Hardy has been a force to be reckoned with since the late ’90s.
But that’s all there is to it. Delay 90s. In terms of wrestling careers, that might have been a million years ago. That’s why even though it’s really cool to see Jeff Hardy in AEW (I even listed The Hardy Boyz in my AEW article’s Top 10 Duo tag team), I still think there are a few things he should be thinking about right now, and more importantly , I know Why He must think about it. So, if you want to keep an open mind, here are four potential directions the future wrestling legend could take. High risk maneuver!
Maybe he can change his wrestling style
When it was announced that Jeff Hardy would not be recording for AEW Dynamite on June 1 Because of his health condition: double or nothing, I totally understood. Jeff Hardy has been slow on his match with The Young Bucks, and you can tell he’s been in pain since his match with Darby Allen (with some even Announcing that Darby Allen is out of Jeff Hardy Jeff Hardy) All the way in May. In fact, it’s kind of hard to watch Jeff Hardy wrestling these days, because he always keeps a little bit of his back after almost all the big bumps, and you can tell he’s in visible pain.
See, that makes sense. Jeff Hardy used to wrestle during the Attitude Era when wrestling was a lot more exciting. He’s been putting his body in a juicer for years, and those years clearly have taken its toll on him. The thing is, you can tell that Jeff Hardy is still trying to give the best possible show to fans, which is pretty impressive. But, at the same time, his health is far more important, and no one wants to see Jeff Hardy live out the rest of his days in a wheelchair. That’s why if he were to continue wrestling, he could consider changing his style.
Instead of the feats of high flying that made him a star, perhaps he could have stayed on the ground more. It may also be best to change his reservation. So instead of wrestling the likes of Darby Allin and The Young Bucks, where he’ll almost certainly get hurt as they both make crazy positions, he could be booked against a slower competition, as if against The Butcher and The Blade a few weeks back. It might not be as exciting as his match with Darby Allen, but it could add years to his career, which I think we all want in the end.
He should come out on top
Currently, The Hardy Boyz is leading the way after their defeat at The Young Bucks in double or nothing. And while I don’t expect Jeff Hardy to retire or anything like that, AEW has done everything they can to protect him since he joined the company. That way, even though he’s in visible pain, you can tell that AEW was giving him and his brother Matt (more about him in a bit) a good boost, so he wasn’t working for other wrestlers like him. In WWE for a while, before WWE finally decided to give him a boost (and an invitation to the Hall of Fame, which Jeff Hardy turned down).
This is awesome. One of the reasons AEW has turned a loose wrestling fan into a weekly watcher is that it does its best to put wrestlers into meaningful stories that showcase their talents. Meanwhile, Jeff is on top now, and I’d hate to see the company kill his endeavors because of his health. So, he might be better off ending up front, maybe going to one or two other major events before hanging up his boots and cheering for his brother, Matt, from the sidelines. Speaking of this topic…
Brother Matt must run again alone
Matt Hardy has been in AEW since 2020, and he’s already gone through a lot of characters. He brought his gimmick “Broken” to AEW, then took on the Big Money character with The Hardy Family Office, and now is back with his brother again. Having said that, I really think Matt does have one last really cool solo, and I’d love to see that happen. And with Jeff Hardy in AEW now, I think it’d be really cool if they somehow brought Willow, and maybe another kind of character, to have Matt wrestle in the ring.
Although MJF is still the best thing to happen to wrestling forever, one of the other wrestlers in AEW who has always fascinated me is Matt Hardy, because he is so unpredictable with his various personalities. So, I’d be really interested to see one last character from Matt Hardy, with Jeff Hardy at his side cheering him on, or even as his episode director. Which brings me to my last point.
He can be a good manager, like Sting
Now, hear me out, but I think it would be great to see Jeff Hardy as episode director, and maybe even for his brother Matt. or not. Since he’s always been a celebrity, it might be cool to see him as the ring director for someone younger, like Daunte Martin of Top Flight fame. Which is why this might be Jeff’s best option, especially if he’s going to be like Sting for Darby Allin: he can still wrestle occasionally.
The sting still sometimes wrestles When he’s with Darby Allen, he’s got bumps too big for a 63-year-old. But he’s also super protective, making him look intimidating simply by spraying a Stinger here or taking out his baseball bat there. I know Jeff Hardy still wants to wrestle because he loves wrestling. It is in his blood. But as a manager, he could He still wrestles, often, and he wouldn’t even have to pull out of such huge points anymore. Leave this to the little ones.
At the same time, he will still have a great presence in AEW, and fans will still be cheering him on. Hell, he could even make more appearances, because it means he wouldn’t have to wrestle if he didn’t want to, and he could simply walk someone to the ring and maybe even do a colorful commentary like William Regal at the Blackpool Combat Club. I know Jeff Hardy probably doesn’t want to take on that role because he’ll probably wrestle to the point where he can’t physically anymore, but being a manager can also extend his career by years, so I think it’s the best possible direction for him.
what do you think? Should Jeff Hardy continue wrestling even though he has visible pain? For more news on AEW and wrestling, be sure to swing by here often.
