The anime industry mourns the loss of one of its most original talents. Last week, news broke that Billy Kamitz had died after suffering from stage 4 cancer. The 35-year-old has been a much loved actor in the animation community, and over the years, they’ve worked on some of the biggest shows possible. And now, Crunchyroll is reviving kameez by making it easier than ever to watch kameez in action.
As you can see below, Crunchyroll has added a playlist for users browsing shows. The set is dedicated to Kametz and includes several of the actor’s most impressive performances. For those unfamiliar with Kamitz by name, the actor got his start in anime in 2018 before he scored the role of a lifetime in… JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Unbreakable Diamonds. Kametz was cast as Josuke, and their work with the series helped launch their voice acting careers up speed. After Josuke scored, Kamitz went on to star in anime as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Baki, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Aggretsuko, Promare, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tower of God, Attack on Titan, Vinland Sagaand more.
Kamitz may not be with us anymore, but his legacy lives on through the performances he brought back to life. Crunchyroll is keen to bring those moments to fans, and frankly, there’s no better way to celebrate the actor than by seeing them excel at what they love to do.
