Ms. Marvel’s Kingo reference explained and Kingo Senior . highlighting

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has presented viewers with some exciting new faces so far – and there are no signs of slowing down.

With the MCU at home on the big screen and Disney+ lately, fans have been treated to massive blockbusters as well as episodic adventures. In fact, the TV format is arguably the best way to get into new characters, while giving viewers the chance to see these characters every week.

Ms. Marvel has been rewarded for such treatment as of late, courtesy of Bisha K. Ali’s mini-series starring Iman Vilani as the titular name Kamala Khan.

It has not been around for a long time, but in terms of first impressions, it is difficult to think of a better result.

As the show throws in a bunch of new additions our way, Episode 2’s name drops someone who should be familiar. So, let’s make a reference to Mrs. Marvel Kingo.

Mrs. Marvel’s Kingo reference explained

In the second episode of the series, we spend quality time with Kamala and her love interest, Kamran.

While discussing their passion for cinema, the conversation tends towards Bollywood films, with Kamran bringing up one of the biggest names in the industry: Kingo. Kamala asks if she is a fan of the popular actor.

“My mom, mom, is literally obsessed with him for a reason,” she explains. Kamran replies that his mother is actually still a fan of Kingo Senior. Little do they know that it’s actually the same person, great or not!

Allow us to explain…

Kingo is a character from the 2021 MCU movie eternity She is portrayed by Kamil Nanjiani. When he wasn’t working as a superhero, he pursued a screen career and became a Bollywood sensation, blending in on the grounds. As an Eternal, on the other hand, he had to hide his true nature by pretending to be members of the same family.

When one dies, the son takes over, for example. However, every generation of the acting dynasty is the same as Kingo.

Kingo and Kingo Senior are the same thing.

Camille Nanjiani was going to enter the MCU before

It turns out that Camille was originally going to enter the MCU out of courtesy next Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.

It wasn’t a huge role and James Gunn himself explained the situation on Twitter:

“I wrote a cameo for my friend Kumail Nanjiani in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. When Kevin Feige called me and said they had a key role for Kumail in the Eternals, I said of course I’d rather see him do it than a few…”

Tor Reports that James Gunn only wrote a cameo for Kumail and actively encouraged the actor to take on the role of Kingo when he appeared instead, considering it a bigger role.

Getting him to portray two different characters in Phase 4 could have been quite confusing, especially with the multiverse playing such an important role in the overall narrative of the recent movie series.
