AT&T doubles down to offer a prepaid 16GB plan for $25 a month

Just in time for summer, AT&T is offering a smoking deal for prepaid customers. The plan includes unlimited calls and texts in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The plan also offers 16GB of high-speed data, for $25 per month.
Of course, there are some subtleties to this deal, but nothing that could be considered unacceptable.

This is absolute theft

For starters, AT&T usually offers the same promotion to its prepaid customers with the main difference being that it only comes with 8GB of high-speed data. For a limited time, the offer will double the amount of data, giving subscribers a total of 16GB. However, in order to get the price of $25 per month, subscribers will have to pay up front for a year. This means a $300 upfront payment, which is non-refundable. Unfortunately, the $300 price point does not include taxes and fees.

For about 16GB of data, it’s just enough, but if you’re a heavy data user, you’ll probably be living on edge with this plan. Fortunately, you will not have to pay for the data used after allocating 16GB. Instead, AT&T will slow down your bandwidth, making it a maximum of 128kbps. If you need more high-speed data, you can always buy more, but it gets expensive, with 3GB costing $20 or 1GB costing $10. Any unused data will be carried over to the next month and will remain on the account for 30 days.

Finally, if you are a worker on the go, the prepaid plan offers delivery at no additional cost. If you’re interested, you can head online or to your local AT&T retail site. The plan does not include a phone, so be sure to bring your phone or buy a new one. AT&T offers other prepaid plans, such as the $30 per month plan with 5GB of data and an unlimited data plan for $50 per month. Fortunately, you won’t have to act fast with this new promo, as it is set to run until October 14th.
