Harry Nef stars in Marc Duplass’s Song of Lena podcast

Leading animator Harry Neff will headline The Song of Lena, a new written podcast from executive producer Mark Duplass, set in the ’80s punk scene in East Berlin.

Lina’s Song is scheduled to premiere on Spotify and Apple Podcasts on August 19. The three-part narrative podcast stars Nef as Lina, a 1980s East Berlin nightclub actress who dreams of crossing the Berlin Wall to freedom. Returning to the old radio show style, “Lina’s Song” is “an immersive story steeped in the over-plots and romance of the Berlin punk scene,” according to the producers.

Neff has had cameo roles in Assassination Nation, Transparent – which also featured Mark Duplass’ brother, Jay – and the streaming adaptation of Caroline Kepnes’ novels “You”. She is also set to appear in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie.

The series also stars Dylan Gelola (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, “First Girl I Loved”, “Shithouse”). “Lena’s Song” is written and directed by Elliot Tuttle (“Horse Girl”) and produced by Rachel Goldfinger. The series features original music composed by Danny McGrath and Albon.
