CJ ENM Hong Kong It has acquired the premiere and exclusive TV, pay-per-view, video-on-demand and over-the-top (OTT) broadcast rights in major Southeast Asian markets for a host of current and upcoming South Korean films. This is to play on tvN . movies channel in Southeast Asia. Titles include: “news report” (also known as “The Outlaws 2”), which is currently in release and is approaching $100 million; “The Witch: Part 2. The Other”, which also opened at first place in the theatrical box office; for CJ ‘Decision to leave’ for which Park Chan-wook won Best Director at Cannes; Disaster film “Declaration of Emergency”, which was shown at Cannes last year and will be shown in August in Korea; Hyun Bin and Yoo Hye Jin starring in “Confidential Assignment 2”; Don Lee starring in the comedy-drama “Men of Plastic”, the action-thriller Decibel, from Megabox Plus M; “Man of the Mind” (formerly known as “The Protector”) directed by Jung Woo Sung; The fact-based hostage crisis drama “The Point Men”; and “The Match,” another story based on true events, this time focusing on the Go master and his disciple, starring Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Ah-in (“Voice of Silence”).

iQiyi International, The outdoor unit of Chinese entertainment company iQiyi has cooperated with the leading Thai cellular network and digital provider AIS To offer video streaming for less than a dollar a month. The VIP Privilege Plan will be available at THB 35 per month for first time subscribers. iQiyi says its international subscriber base grew threefold in 2021 with Southeast Asia the leading group. But while it is gaining clear appeal with audiences in some parts of the region, the response has been uneven, with Thailand and Malaysia among the most responsive. The company announced that its first two original Malaysian shows are now in production and may be uploaded later in the year: the marital comedy-drama Sorry Nike Lowry from local production company Tsar Asia; and the dark romance of the Rampas Sentaku for MIP Productions.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to Chinese rule, the city government will present a large-scale variety show on Friday. Hong Kong Stadium.
