Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi criticizes director’s cuts

Thor: Love and Thunder has finally arrived in theaters, but some Marvel fans still want to see more. Reports of putting those hours together into about four hours have prompted calls for “#ReleaseTheWaititiCut” among some viewers who want to see an expanded version of the entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, director Taika Waititi doesn’t seem to care about such a thing.

“I was thinking about director’s cuts,” Waititi said. New Musical Express. “I watch director cuts for a lot of other directors. It sucks. Director cuts aren’t good. Directors need to be censored sometimes, and if I were to say, ‘Ah do you want to watch my director’s story?'” It’s four and a half hours! He’s not good at four and a half hours. There are a lot of tea breaks out there, and you don’t even have to pause them.”

The remake, titled “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” was released to HBO Max in the spring of 2021, drawing an even more enthusiastic response from viewers.

Although Waititi was dismissive of the possibility of a Waititi cut from Thor: Love and Thunder, the director still shared some thoughts on what the extended portion of the film would look like.

“I would say my story will probably contain some other jokes,” he explained. “There might be some scenes deleted but as I always say, the scene was deleted because it’s not good enough to be in the movie. I think the deleted scenes section is on DVD, not that they’re using them anymore, it should just be a list of scenes and there’s no links so no You can click on it!”
