Big E says he’s satisfied with the prospect of his retirement from wrestling

The former WWE Champion Big E has been out since last March, breaking his neck after taking a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland. The New Day member specifically suffered fractures in both his C1 and C6 vertebrae, which did not require surgery, but placed an E in a neck brace for the foreseeable future. That changed last month, as E shared a clip on social media of him throwing the brace in the trash. In more positive news, E noted that he had been feeling “terrified” for the past two weeks. However, there is no promise that E will go inside the squared circle again.

Within this “enormous” tweet, E indicated that he is involved in it long term with his path to recovery, as the multi-time Tag Team Champion will be examined again in March 2023.

Big E said, “It’s really one of the ‘wait and see’ things.” TMZ Sports. “I can’t really say. I don’t know if I’d be 100% back in March or if they’d look at saying, ‘Maybe you should do something else in your life.'” For me, March next year is a long way off, so I don’t want to spend a lot of time worrying and stressing about it. I’ve been with this company for 13 years. That means a lot of Saturdays and Sundays in Poughkeepsie, Kalamazoo and most Random cities. But, now I live my life a bit and see some friends and I enjoy being human.”

Regardless of his current situation, Big E takes it all in with a half-full mindset. A decision on his future remains elusive, but E has indicated that he is already satisfied with the prospect of retiring.

“Yes, I think so,” said Big E. “Honestly, my philosophy as a human being is learning how to be content with whatever life brings you. I am so grateful I am not in a wheelchair, but if I were, I would have to adapt to life in a wheelchair. That’s just how I’m a programmer. If I spend hours or days or weeks sort of mourning where I am in life, and I’m not what I wanted to be, it doesn’t serve me.”

While E has been off the WWE tour schedule for the past five months, the heavyweight will be back WWE SummerSlam Weekend to help college athlete scouts with upcoming exams.
