Nerf has unveiled the Pro GelFire Mythic Full Auto Blaster, which opens an entire new product category for the company. Pro Gelfire Mythic releases rounds of soft, water-based polymer in an 800 round hopper. Similar to decorative water beads that can be used in flower arrangements, dried GelFire rounds absorb water and expand into a ball. These pellets can then be released from the ejector at high speed, and explode on impact.
The Nerf Pro GelFire Mythic blaster features fully automatic and semi-automatic modes and features a removable barrel, extendable stock, goggles, rechargeable battery, and a universal USB-A to USB-C charging cable. It is capable of firing up to 10 rounds per second.
Note that 10,000 GelFire rounds are included with the blaster, but the price for the refill has not been announced at the time of writing. We’re also waiting to see if the GelFire rounds are biodegradable (most beads seem to be water).
