Introduction to ‘Halloween Ends’: Michael Myers Hounts Jamie Lee Curtis

Michael Myers is back – again – this Halloween season in the first trailer for “Halloween Ends.”

The film is the thirteenth installment in the “Halloween” franchise, and the third in the timeline set by 2018’s “Halloween”, which has discarded every other film in the series except for the original 1978 John Carpenter. The trilogy saw Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode, survivor of the original Michael Myers murder series (played by Nick Castle and stuntman James Judd Courtney), who is now a recluse with PTSD. The 2018 and 2021 movie “Halloween Kills” saw Laurie team up with her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Alison (Andy Matichak) when Myers re-emerged to attack Haddonfield, Illinois.

“Halloween Ends” will follow the cliffhanger ending of “Halloween Kills,” which saw Karen attacked and stabbed to death by Michael. Curtis and Matichak will reprise their roles from the last two films as they try to avenge Karen’s memory. They also reprise their roles from previous films Will Patton, Kyle Richards, and Omar Dorsey, while Michael O’Leary will join the cast as a new addition to the cast.

David Gordon Green has returned from the previous two films to direct “Halloween Ends.” Green also wrote the script with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier. The film is produced by Jason Bloom through his Blumhouse Productions banner, along with Rough House Productions, Miramax and Trancas International Pictures. Additional producers include Bill Block and Malek El Akkad. Universal Pictures will distribute the film.

“Halloween Ends” will be released in theaters October 14. Watch the full trailer below.
