Her mother believes that Melanie was “self-medicating” in order to alleviate the pain and suffering of her past, which unfortunately ended in tragedy. Beyond that, Melanie’s mother wants people to remember her for other things.
“Mel’s life was a good one, and her death left a void in our lives that will never be filled,” she wrote. “Please remember her how she lived, with love, joy, fun and sincere sympathy for everyone she came into contact with.”
