Max Headroom reboot in the works

AMC is working on restart Max height, which starred Matt Frewer as the titular character, and who was the world’s first artificial intelligence-powered television personality. The original series only aired on ABC for two seasons from 1987 to 1988, but the character became a pop culture icon. It also assumed a sort of clandestine status as a counterculture icon when in 1987 a TV hacker wearing a Max Headroom mask took over a pair of Chicago TV shows, making bizarre and obscene comments on the air. That incident became so famous, a horror movie was made loosely based on the event.

“I think what’s exciting about the Max Headroom incident specifically is that, unlike other broadcast intrusions, it hasn’t been resolved,” he said.
