Netflix Unveils Trailer for ‘Seoul Vibe’ Set in the 80’s

Netflix has unveiled footage from “Seoul Vibe,” a Korean original movie set to release on August 26, 2022. The look of the retro action movie goes back to the 1980s when South Korea was leaving military rule in the rearview mirror and experiencing a new kind of cool.

The focus is on breathtaking driving sequences, classic vehicles, and great visuals and soundtrack.

Directed by Moon Hyun-sung, this elegant heist action thriller focuses on a crew of gear chiefs who team up to break down a crime gang as South Korea’s capital prepares to host the 1988 Olympics.

In the days leading up to this Summer Olympics, a crew of drivers and mechanics called the Sanggye-dong Supreme Team discovered some dubious business involving a VIP slash box. Together, Yoo Ah-in (as an outstanding driver with perfect drifting skills), Koh Kyung-Pyo (as a club DJ coordinator), Lee Kyu Hyung (as a human navigator), Park Ju-hyun (as a talented motorcyclist) and Ong Seong-wu (as Joon-gi, the mechanic) sees the truth behind a huge money laundering ring.

The film was produced by Yoo Hyung-Seok and Kwon Oh-Hyun, with Andmarq Studio credited as a production company and UAA co-production.

“Seoul Vibe” will be released shortly after another original work from Korea. Netflix is bringing a release on August 5 to “Carter,” which is set two months after the outbreak of a pandemic emerging from the demilitarized zone. Honorary Special Agent Carter wakes up with no recollection of his past. His head is literally a bomb and there is a mysterious voice telling him a special mission. “Carter” is directed by Jung Byung Gil, stars Joo Won and produced by Apeitda Production.
