Good Burger’s Kel Mitchell Wasn’t Making a Sequel, and Whether Good Burger 2 Might Still Happen

It has been more than two decades since the release of Good BurgerNickelodeon is still as popular as ever. The movie that was based on all of that A sketch of the same name, solid box office numbers were made for Paramount. So with the duo’s popularity and financial reception, one can’t help but scratch their head when thinking that the movie didn’t get a big following or a small screen. Kel Mitchell recently shared some thoughts about not getting a chance to do a sequel and also thought about whether such a project could still happen.

I spoke with Kel Mitchell in celebration of Good Burger25th Anniversary and Limited Edition Blu-ray steelbook release. During the conversation, I couldn’t help but ask if there were any discussions about a sequel right after the movie’s release in 1997. The beloved actor revealed that while no other feature actually happened, Kenan Thompson had already been hired for one:

Yes, at Paramount, we had a three-photo deal that we were doing. Then that turned us into Two Heads Are Better Than None, which was the horror movie we did, and we never did the third. So we never do that. … Yes, it was, you know, great to see [Two Heads], but fans really want a sequel. Well, you know, we love the fans, so you just have to keep your ear to the street to see what happens.
