Apple removes 15 games from Arcade as developer contracts expire

Subscription services are a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you get the latest and greatest at a reasonable and fixed monthly price. On the other hand, don’t buy any of the content licenses, and you may lose access to any or all of them at any moment. While this business model faces a lot of criticism, many customers actually prefer it to regular purchases. Apple Arcade is a subscription service offered by the Cupertino Corporation. As its name suggests, you can play a lot of games for a monthly fee. Last month, new Leave the aisle soon It appeared on the App Store. Games listed there are no longer available on the service.

Apple Arcade catalog lost 15 games. Those who have already downloaded it can play it for another two weeks. After that, no one will be able to access the actual games or their data anymore. Besides games, Apple has also removed a file Leave the aisle soon section of the App Store. This may mean that there are no other developer contracts that will expire soon. However, we expect to see it again in the future – when Apple prepares to remove other games. The list of inaccessible games includes:

  • Projection: first light
  • Liveslid
  • different daily life
  • EarthNight
  • Atonement: The Heart of the Greater Tree
  • over the Alps
  • nautical dread
  • Cardpocalypse
  • Facing: Among the shadows
  • dead end mission
  • do not bother me!
  • Spelldrifter
  • spiders
  • explain
  • BattleSky Brigade: Harpooner

Given that Arcade titles can disappear from the App Store at any time, some players may find it difficult to invest their time in these games. In the end, they will lose access to all their progress, and all the efforts that have been expended will be gone. Apple allows developers to re-release deleted games as separate titles for the App Store. It is still not clear yet whether developers are actively taking advantage of this.

Do you play any of the affected Apple Arcade titles? If so, which one? Let us know in the comments section below.
