Dakota Johnson and Maud have weekly dating nights for the next month with a weekly movie series showing at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Johnson’s TeaTime Pictures has partnered with the intimate brand of what they call “Cinemaude”: a month-long program of films all about love and sex, from classics to adulthood to less traditional depictions of love into old age. . Shows will take place every Thursday through August, starting Thursday, August 4 at The Theater at DTLA’s Ace Hotel. Tickets are now available at Website about the Ice Hotel for $20.
This month’s screenings are set to include “Mustang,” which follows four orphaned sisters who are jailed after being caught playing innocently with a group of boys; “The Waves,” which follows an African American family in the suburbs as they navigate love and forgiveness after a tragic loss; “Tangerine,” which centers on a transgender sex worker who teams up with her best friend to eliminate her ex-lover/pimp after finding out he cheated on her while she was in prison; And “Babyteeth” is about a sick teenage girl who falls in love with a drug dealer for the disapproval of her parents.
“T-Time is excited to sponsor a month of films for Cinemas,” Johnson said in a statement. “These are some of our favorite things, and seeing them in the theater is a real treat.”
During the show, attendees will also be able to sip complementary drinks from sponsor Ghia and take home a personalized movie poster. After checking out, they can head to Maude’s exclusive pop-up at the Ace Hotel where they’ll sell best-selling sexual necessities like vibrators, massage candles, and lubricants.
