In the untitled show, a Midwestern couple adopt what they believe to be an 8-year-old girl with a rare form of dwarfism. Hulu gave the series an eight-episode arrangement. Katie Robbins (“The Affair” and “The Last Tycoon”) writes and executive produces, with Pompeo set to executive produce under her Calamity Jane production banner. Erin Levy (“Mad Men” and “Counterpart”) will serve as presenter and executive producer. Laura Holstein of Calamity Jane will also carry out production alongside Mike Epps, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner and Andrew Stearn. ABC Signature is the studio, with Calamity Jane currently under a package deal there.

Pompeo is best known for her starring role in the popular medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC, which she has starred in since 2005.
