Disney + Talk Show Renewed by Robin Roberts (TV news roundup)

The Disney+ original series “Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts” will return for a second season on the platform. The series is produced by Robin Roberts, who is a co-host on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” The first season won the 2022 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Media Talk Show.

In the new season, Robin Roberts gets personal with a new lineup of guests after the series’ inaugural season included interviews with Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Jean King, Mickey Gayton, Tig Notaro and Raven Simone. “Turning the Tables” is produced by Rock’n Robin Productions and SpringHill. The series was originally developed and created by Roberts and Philip Byron, SpringHill’s Senior Vice President of Documentary and Unscripted Film. In addition to Roberts and LeBron James, the executive producers are Renee Callister of Rock’n Robin Production and Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron of SpringHill, with co-executive producer Courtney Whitaker and Caden Unkel as the show’s director.

“Having the opportunity last season to speak with these strong and amazing women, of all ages and backgrounds, was very special to me,” Roberts said of the renewal. “They taught us a lot about intuition, originality, vulnerability, what it means to be a leader and the struggle that can come with it.”

The documentary will be shown on transactional video-on-demand and on the Cinedigm Fandor discovery platform on October 18. The acquisition was negotiated by Brandon Hill on behalf of Cinedigm and John Otterbacher and Elaine Wyder-Harshmann on behalf of the filmmakers.
