The only thing we know is that Tarantino won’t revisit Reservoir Dogs for his tenth and final movie. Last year, he paid a visit to Real Time with Bill Maher to talk about his book and his future plans. During this visit, he revealed that he considered restarting Reservoir Dogs to bring more consistency to his career or something like that:
This is kind of ‘capturing time in a moment’ kind of, ‘I wouldn’t do it,’ Tarantino said. But I thought about it. The director also went on to explain why he intended to retire after his tenth film. Maher asked why Tarantino wanted to give up filmmaking while he was at the “top of [his] the game. Tarantino replied, ‘That’s why I want to quit. “
“I know the history of the movie, and from here on, the directors don’t get any better. I still have another reason to go. I have no reason to want to say out loud that this would win any court argument from public opinion or the Supreme Court or anything like that. Same time, working for 30 years making as many movies as I did, not as many as other people, that’s a long career. It’s really a long career. And I gave it my all. It’s all my own.”
