Another former WWE Superstar will be facing a SmackDown

Earlier today, a report indicated that AJ Francis, formerly known as the Top Dolla of Hit Row, is expected to be at WWE SmackDown this week. It will be the latest in a string of previously released Superstars brought back to WWE by Triple H, but a new report from Choose a fight He suggests he won’t be alone, as Ashante Thee Adonis is also actively planning to score SmackDown this week. These are two members of the disbanded Hit Row, although the report says it is known what ability will be used and whether they will actually appear on TV or if they play another role.

AJ and Ashante were both part of Hit Row along with B-Fab and Swerve Strickland, although this faction was unable to reform due to Strickland’s presence in AEW, where he became AEW World Tag Team Champion alongside Keith Lee. That’s not to say that AJ and Ashante can’t work as a team or otherwise, but we just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

Hit Row quickly became a fan favorite in NXT, and all labels indicated a major presence on the main roster after they were called up to SmackDown. Unfortunately after the announcement of SmackDown, WWE released a B-Fab from the company. The three remaining members of the group then finally appeared on WWE TV but did not get a chance to settle in as the remaining three members were released as part of further talent cuts.

If AJ and Ashante appear on SmackDown, it will be the latest in a string of stars returning to the company in the shadow of the Triple H era. Previously released superstars Karrone Cross, Scarlett, Dakota Kay, and Dexter Loomis have all racked up revenue on Raw, SmackDown and SummerSlam.

What would you like to see WWE do with AJ and Ashante if they make a comeback? Let us know in the comments!
