Cara Delevingne dominated the fashion show despite being ‘too short on the catwalk’

Cara Delevingne, who was told she was “too short on the catwalk”, has turned to working for the world’s largest fashion houses.

Before starting her first Burberry campaign, Cara had photographed for Asos catalogs and even Cadbury campaigns for chocolate. The British model has now walked with Chanel, Dior was the face of Topshop and walked at Victoria’s Secret, so what can’t Cara do?

There really is nothing stopping the model-turned-actress and since it’s her birthday today, August 12th, let’s take a look inside her life…

Inside the life of Cara Delevingne

Cara was born on August 12, 1992, in Hammersmith, London. She grew up in Belgravia, London, with her two older sisters, Bobby and Chloe. Cara’s father, Charles Delevingne, is a real estate developer, and her mother, Pandora, is a social activist in London.

Kara struggled at school and suffered from dyslexia, a problem with coordinating thoughts and movements. She took drumming as a way to release her energy and still plays the instrument today.

At the age of 10, Cara made her Italian modeling debut, where the photos were taken by the famous fashion photographer Bruce Weber. As a teenager, she was discovered by Storm Modeling Agency founder Sarah Ducasse, who is also the agent who launched Kate Moss’ career. Dukas’ daughter has been school friends with Cara since she was five, and Delevingne was eventually signed to the agency at the age of fifteen.

After her sixth year, Cara studied at Bedales, an elite private school in Hampshire where she found her love of drama. Hoping to earn enough money to put herself through drama school, she quit Bedales and worked for a year before booking a paying job.

Delevingne dominated the runway despite being ‘too short on the podium’

Kara said in the luster It’s “Tiny On The Runway!” Reveal “I’m 5’8” or 5’7. While she may look like a supermodel, she doesn’t necessarily have the height.

In fact, she’s quite short by the standards of a generic model but that hasn’t stopped her from dominating the catwalks, that’s for sure. Cara explained, “A lot of people still tell me I’m too short” but then again, she’s used to facing setbacks and getting over them like bosses.

For example, in an interview with Vogue, Kara open “The first time I walked into my Burberry, the woman just said, ‘Turn around, get away. However, she kept trying, and eventually was scouted by Christopher Bailey, who succeeded Angela Ahrendts as CEO, to participate in the brand’s Spring 2011 campaign.

We all know there are no height requirements to be an actor. In fact, most fans are shocked when they meet their favorite A-lister actors who aren’t quite as tall as they look on screen.

In 2012, the runway expert hit the big screen in the Academy Award-nominated film Anna Karenina where she starred alongside Keira Knightley in a small role portraying Princess Sorokina. From there, she went on to star in popular films such as Suicide Squad and Paper Towns.

After all, acting has always been Cara Delevingne’s dream, and she’s transitioned from catwalk to acting effortlessly.
