To me, it doesn’t bother me if I ever get a chance to play Dredd again or if he’s someone Else. I just want to see those stories.”

Here is the official summary of dred:

The America of the future is a land of radioactive waste. On the East Coast, stretching from Boston to Washington, DC, lies Mega City One – a vast, violent city where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The system’s only strength lies in urban policemen called “judges” who have the combined powers of judge, jury, and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate judge, who faces the challenge of ridding the city of its last pestilence – a dangerous drug epidemic that afflicts “Slo-Mo” users of reality at a fraction of its normal speed.

During a routine day on the job, Dredd is tasked with training and evaluating Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime summons them to a neighborhood rarely ventured by fellow judges – a 200-story vertical slum controlled by a prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circles, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty and vicious war against the judges proving they will stop at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count rising and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must face the odds and engage in a relentless battle for their survival.

The endless creative mind of writer Alex Garland and director Pete Travis brings DREDD to life as a futuristic new action movie. Filmed in 3D with stunning slow-motion shooting sequences, the film brings the popular character back to the dark, visceral incarnation from the revered comic strip of John Wagner and Carlos Ezcora.
